My Approach
I founded The Delaware Counseling Center as a practice that would focus solely on reproductive health issues. I've been on a similar journey as you, but I also have 20+ years of experience treating women who have felt the loneliness of infertility treatment, women on bedrest with hopes of finally staying pregnant, or couples who had to come home from the hospital without their baby, entering a nursery that was painted, decorated and ready. You didn't expect this. I understand the unique emotional and psychological needs of individuals and couples facing reproductive health challenges, and I bring to your sessions authenticity, empathy, and a lot of hope.

Hi! I'm Nikki
The Delaware Counseling Center is actually just me: Nikki. And despite my title, many of my clients live in Pennsylvania. I am sure you want to know more than just my name and where I am licensed.
. I graduated with my MSW in 1998, and soon thereafter, I started working in the adoption field, helping adoptive parents create their family. When my husband and I decided it was time for children, we didn't anticipate that it would take years to get to our dream. There were some peaks, but too many valleys. I don't ever want other women to feel the way that I did.

Seeking Support
Navigating infertility and loss can be overwhelming, daunting and lonely. I draw from a range of treatment modalities, but the greatest asset that I bring to the table is my experience. I am proud to have achieved a "Top 10 Therapist" ranking on Healthgrades, and more importantly, I have had a full practice without having to formally market myself. My success is a direct result of patient testimonies, word of mouth on social media and referrals from some of the best local OBGYNs and Reproductive Endocrinologists. I am the same person in our sessions as I am in HomeGoods. My patients tell me they felt like they were talking with an old childhood friend from their very first session. I will offer you the tools and support you'll need to help you cope with the emotional and psychological impact of these experiences. Grab your coffee, find a box of tissues, wrap yourself in a blanket and call me if you are hoping to:
1.
-
Process your feelings, reduce symptoms of depression & anxiety and better manage your stressors
2.
-
Determine the best choice for how to build your family, when to stop treatment, or live child-free
3.
-
Communicate more effectively and better support your spouse when your baby dies
4.
-
Learn about how pregnancy and infant loss can affect your mental health, job, relationships and social life & how you can improve them
5.
-
Create the best odds for getting and staying pregnant, and most importantly, bringing your baby home
